The Challenge

Let others lead small lives,
But not you.
Let others argue over small things,
But not you.
Let others cry over small hurts,
But not you.
Let others leave their future
In someone else's hands,
But not you.

Always the friend

I don't understand,
It's always the same story.

They see me as the friend,
But never more.

They say I'm attractive, friendly and trustworthy,
But I always remain the "best friend"

They come and talk to me when things go wrong,
I'm the shoulder they lean on,
But at the end of the day,
I'm still just a friend.

Am I just unlucky in love?
Lucky in my friendships?

Maybe it's better to have close friends who trust you,
But I also need someone in my life

As a friend once told me,
It's the best feeling when someone cares about you more than you care about yourself...

Till then, I remain yours,
Your best friend.

Forever Friends

I saw this poem on the net. It was written by Janilyn B. Rentillo. It made me to remember the end of my school and college days while i felt so bad to depart from my friends... Miss you all a lot my dear friends...

True friends are hard to find,
but there you are you came into my life.
You came to me in a perfect time,
I'm so happy you're a friend of mine.

We've been together for so long,
in a fantastic place where we belong.
We shared the mysteries of our life,
laughter and tears are seen in our eyes.

You're with me and I'm with you,
you comfort me and I LOVE YOU.
A part of me becomes part of you,
true friendship I've found in you.

Now it's time to say goodbye,
tears of sadness keeps falling in my eyes.
So, please don't cry my darling friend,
Coz our friendship will never end.

Yes it's true we'll be apart,
Coz I'm here and you there.
With you my friend I want to tell,
whatever happens we'll be FRIENDS FOREVER!

Promise To Stay In Touch

I couldn't find the right words
Nothing seemed to rhyme
To write something for you all
I think it will take time

Because when you have friends
That are very hard to find
There's so much to say
Because you make everything alright

So I will tell you right now
exactly what I need to say
To show you how much I appreciate
You being there everyday

You're worth more than anyone
even a million pounds
Because you always know what to say
When I am feeling down

You make me smile big smiles
And my days so very bright
And when I lose my way
You find me in the night

I sometimes wish I could explain
How much you mean to me
But its just not possible
To list a billion things

So I just wanted to say
I love you so so much
And I hope you never leave me
Promise to stay in touch

Friend

A nice friendship poem. I dedicate this poem to all my friends.

It has meant so much
Having you as a friend
You will always be a part of me
Until the end

When times are tough
You are always there
It has brightened my world
Just knowing you care

You make me feel the love
I have inside
You are a friend,
A mentor, a guide

Since we met
Our friendship has grown
While you're in the world
I will never be alone

I feel blessed to have met
Some one like you
And to have found a friendship
So special and true

College Days

This poem flashed back the wonderful moments that i spent with my friends in my college and school days.. Dedicated to my friends.. Miss you all...

Remembering my class mates, after few years.
My eyes were filled with tears,
Everyone now is busy a lot,
No one escaped destiny's plot

Saw the girl, whom once i thought as my best frnd,
Oops! today she is somebody else's girlfrnd,
After months remembered about her for a little while,
Heard she is happy, that made me smile.

Project reviews to campus interviews,
Nicknames to last bench games,
Cultural reharsals to love proposals,
Short term crushes to class room blushes.

Everything is fresh in our mind,
Wish life could just rewind,
Let's laugh, play & rejoice,
Once again become school/college guys.

Chatting & laughing. We all were in elation,
Till the painful moments of separation,
When it was time to part,
We returned with a heavy heart.

Today life is full of commitments,
And too many worries,
But those cherished moments,
Will live forever in our memories! ! !

Flying

While surfing through the net, i came across this story, it really moved me... Hope you too will feel moved.. Realize that God has blessed us in abundance...

Once upon a time there was a little boy who was raised in a orphanage.

The little boy had always wished that he could fly like a bird. It was very difficult for him to understand why he could not fly. There were birds at the zoo that were much bigger than he, and they could fly.

"Why can't I?" he thought. "Is there something wrong with me?" he wondered.

There was another little boy who was crippled. He had always wished that he could walk and run like other little boys and girls.

"Why can't I be like them?" he thought.

One day the little orphan boy who had wanted to fly like a bird ran away from the orphanage. He came upon a park where he saw the little boy who could not walk or run playing in the sandbox.

He ran over to the little boy and asked him if he had ever wanted to fly like a bird.

"No," said the little boy who could not walk or run. "But I have wondered what it would be like to walk and run like other boys and girls."

"That is very sad." said the little boy who wanted to fly. "Do you think we could be friends?" he said to the little boy in the sandbox.

"Sure." said the little boy.

The two little boys played for hours. They made sand castles and made really funny sounds with their mouths. Sounds which made them laugh real hard. Then the little boy's father came with a wheelchair to pick up his son. The little boy who had always wanted to fly ran over to the boy's father and whispered something into his ear.

"That would be OK," said the man.

The little boy who had always wanted to fly like a bird ran over to his new friend and said, "You are my only friend and I wish that there was something that I could do to make you walk and run like other little boys and girls. But I can't. But there is something that I can do for you."

The little orphan boy turned around and told his new friend to slide up onto his back. He then began to run across the grass. Faster and faster he ran, carrying the little crippled boy on his back. Faster and harder he ran across the park. Harder and harder he made his legs travel. Soon the wind just whistled across the two little boys' faces.

The little boy's father began to cry as he watched his beautiful little crippled son flapping his arms up and down in the wind, all the while yelling at the top of his voice,

"I'M FLYING, DADDY. I'M FLYING!"

Where do we go from here?

Several centuries
Have slipped by between our thin fingers
The Rani of Jhansi asks me from the grave
Are we free and equal at last?

I hang my head: there is so much to do.
My feminine paranoia has no cure,
Some drunken husband is beating his wife,
Some female child has seen her starving grave,
Some woman went with only half the wages
Some woman was raped and could not fight
Some woman married an irregular old chap
And I still have to prove everything I do.
And you call this a hyperbola of my fantasy?

Two droplets of summer
Three teaspoons of hope
Two tablespoons of courage
A jug of education
A sprig of equal laws
Ten sticks of economic liberty

Will you concoct me this elixir
So I may tell the Rani that she may breathe?

I Will Triumph

Darkness invaded my life
Bringing with him distress and strife
Like an unexpected thief
Robbing me of all hope
And leaving me with nothing but grief.

Out of anger I cried
Thinking
Something in me had died
But a ball of hope within my soul
Ignited my spirit and made me bold
To fight to smile to conquer it all
My light
To darkness
Will never fall

I rise again with strength anew
I stand affirmed with a positive view
I shout and vow triumphantly
Over darkness I have the victory.

Allow Your Own Inner Light to Guide You

There comes a time when you must stand alone.

You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.

You must be willing to make sacrifices.

You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.

Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.

There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.

Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.

Be confident enough that you won't settle for a compromise just to get by.

Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.

Don't stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight that should lead the way.

Just Five More Minutes

I liked this short story, so thought of posting it here..

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.

“That’s my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.

“He’s a fine looking boy” the man said. “That’s my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”

Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”

Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”

The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”

Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”

The man smiled and said, “OK.”

“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.

The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.

She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”

Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities?
Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today!

Something Interesting... Please Don't take it Personally

Hi Guys,

This is something for refereshment.. we usually discuss something related to company, employess etc. I came across this in a website and i thought of sharing it with you...

I hope this you will enjoy... PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY

After 2 years of selfless service, a man realized that he has not been
promoted, no transfer, no salary increment, no commendation. So he decided to walk up to his HR Manager. His manager looked at him, smiled and asked him to sit down saying:

"My friend you have not worked here for even a single day." The man was surprised to hear this, but the manager went on to explain.

Manager: How many days are there in a year?

Man: 365 days and sometimes 366.

Manager: How many hours make up a day?

Man: 24 Hours.

Manager: How long do u work in a day?

Man: 10am to 6pm i.e 8 hours a day.

Manager: So, what fraction of the day do u work in hours?

Man: He did some arithmetic and said 8/24 i.e 1/3 (one third).

Manager: This is nice of u! what is 1/3rd of 366 days?

Man: 122(1/3 x 366=122 in days)

Manager: Do u come to work on weekends?

Man: No sir.

Manager: How many days r there in a year that r weekends?

Man: 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays equals to 104 days.

Manager: Thanks for that. If u remove 104 days from 122 days. how many days
do u now have?

Man: 18 days.

Manager: I do give u 2 weeks sick leave every year. Now remove that 14 days
from the 18 days left. How many days do u have remaining?

Man: 4 days.

Manager: Do u work on Republic Day?

Man: No sir!

Manager: Do u come to work on Independance Day?

Man: No sir!

Manager: So how many days r left?

Man: 2 days Sir!

Manager: Do u come to work on New Years Day?

Man: No sir!

Manager: So how many days r left?

Man: 1 day sir!

Manager: Do u work on Christmas Day?

Man: No Sir!

Manager: So how many days r left?

Man: None Sir!

Manager: So what r u claiming?

Man: I have understood, Sir. I did not realise that I was stealing company
money all these days.

Moral-NEVER GO TO HR FOR HELP!!!

HR-HIGH RISK.

Make A Difference....

A man was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along he began to see another man in the distance.

As he grew nearer he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up, and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean.

As our friend approached even closer he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had washed up onto the beach, and one at a time, he was throwing them back into the ocean.

The first man was puzzled. He approached the man and said, "Good Evening Friend, I was wondering what are you doing?" And he replied, "I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide right now and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they will die from the lack of oxygen."

"I understand," my friend replied "but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach and you couldn't possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many and don't you realize that this is happening on hundreds of beaches up and down this coast ... can't you see that that you can't possibly make a difference?

The local native smiled, bent down, picked up yet another starfish ... and as he threw it back out into the sea, he replied, "It made a difference to that one!"

You may feel like you cannot make a difference in the world today, but you CAN make a difference in one life at a time.

Lessons to be learnt :

* Never underestimate your own efforts. You too could make a difference.
* Don't ask what the world could do for you, seek what you could do to the world.

I love these words.....

If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world.

If you have money in the bank, your wallet, and some spare change you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture, or the horrible pangs of starvation you are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering.

If you can read this message you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read it at all... :)
